Hey there,

Welcome back to The Strive Syndicate, your go-to source for underrepresented voices turning unique perspectives into an ideal future.

This week, we're tackling: energy allocation. Not time management - energy management.

🔍 Curated Resources This Week

Here are 3 discoveries that caught my attention and could benefit you:

  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aStHTTPxlis - Founders Podcast episode which dives into the inner workings of Elon Musk (Great for entrepreneurs)

  2. https://abseil.io/resources/swe-book - Free online version of how Software Engineering works at Google (Eye-opening for technology enthusiasts)

My Energy Wake-Up Call

Recently, I’ve been working 50+ hours between my SWE job and Strive Syndicate.

I felt busy. I felt productive. I felt... exhausted.

Then I tracked my energy for a week. The results were eye-opening:

  • Most of my "productive" hours were actually low-energy busywork

  • My highest-energy 3 hours per day generated more output than the other hours combined

  • I was spending prime energy on non stimulating busywork, leaving content creation to my tired evening hours

The revelation: I wasn't managing my time. I was misallocating my energy.

The Strategic Energy Framework

Energy allocation is more predictive of income than time allocation. Here's why:

High-energy work creates assets. When you're sharp, you build systems, create content, and solve complex problems that pay dividends forever.

Low-energy work maintains assets. When you're drained, you handle admin, respond to emails, and do necessary but non-multiplying tasks.

Most people flip this. They use peak energy for maintenance and wonder why they're not growing.

The 3-Tier Energy Allocation System:

Tier 1: Peak Energy (Your Golden Hours)

  • Strategic thinking and planning

  • Content creation and writing

  • Product development

  • High-stakes conversations and networking

Tier 2: Moderate Energy (Your Steady Hours)

  • Content editing and optimization

  • Community engagement

  • Learning and skill development

  • Business development outreach

Tier 3: Low Energy (Your Recovery Hours)

  • Email and admin tasks

  • Social media scheduling

  • Resource management and organization

  • Consumption

Implementation Strategy:

  1. Track your energy patterns for one week. Note your energy level (1-10) every 2-3 hours.

  2. Identify your golden hours. When are you consistently at 8-10 energy?

  3. Ruthlessly protect peak energy. Schedule Tier 1 work during golden hours only.

  4. Batch low-energy work. Handle all Tier 3 tasks during predictable energy dips.

  5. Design recovery routines. Know what restores your energy vs. what drains it.

The goal isn't working more hours. It's extracting maximum value from your peak-energy hours while making low-energy hours useful rather than wasted.

When you align your highest-leverage activities with your highest-energy windows, income follows naturally. Your best energy creates your biggest opportunities.

Keep moving strategically,
